Uncut Sheets

One of the key pieces of information for print run calculations is the layout and structure of the uncut sheets of each set.  Luckily most of the original sets have had the layout of their sheets documented, with a few notable exceptions.  This article will provide photos of the known uncut sheets and go into more detail on what sheets are still unknown.

This information relies heavily on magiclibrarities.net from which almost all of these photos have been taken.  For more detailed information, and for more uncut sheets, please visit their page:

Alpha / Beta / Unlimited / CE / IE

Alpha, Beta, Unlimited, Collectors Edition, and International Edition all have identical sheet layouts.  The caveat being that the Alpha sheet is missing Volcanic Island, Circle of Protection Black, Island (C), Swamp (C), Forest (C), Mountain (C), and Plains (C).  Instead on the Alpha sheets these cards are replaced by basic lands.

Below are the layouts of uncut Collector Edition sheets.

Arabian Nights

There are no surviving Arabian Nights sheets that are available for reference.

Charles Klein and Michael Cervenka with the assistance of Dave Howell (an early employee of Wizards of the Coast) have reconstructed the print layouts for Arabian Nights for both the common sheet and uncommon sheet. These are not the actual sheets, but what the layouts looked like. There is no publicly known evidence that actual uncut sheets of Arabian Nights exist
